NextOcular is investigating vision in a group of nonagenarians seen in a community ophthalmology practice to better understand the needs and impact of an expanding population of the oldest old.   Ocular bioiological verses chronological age is being studied to look at aging heterogeneity and optimize vision after cataract surgery. 

 

Improved Tissue Storage Media

Protective molecules derived from organisms exposed to adverse conditions are being investigated as supplements to existing corneal eye bank storage media to prolong viable storage times.

Tissue Protection and Healing 

 

We are exploring the use of unique biologically derived molecules for vibrational and force dampening to prevent damage to joints from repetitive motion and to aid healing.

Ocular Tumor Models 

​

Preliminary investigations have shown unique tissue interactions between ocular tumors in man and virally transformed ocular animal cell lines.  Knowledge derived from these interactions may lead to further elucidation of malignant processes in general and new therapeutic agents.
